HS Prannoy climbs to a career-high No. 6 in the BWF rankings, while PV Sindhu is ranked No. 14

<p>In the most recent BWF rankings released on Tuesday, Indian shuttler H S Prannoy shot to a career-high global ranking of No. 6 after winning his first bronze medal at a global Championship.</p>

<p>He is the only shuttler from India to have held a top-10 spot since December of last year.</p>
<p>He has won the Super-500 Malaysia Masters during this time and most recently placed second in the Australian Open.</p>
<p>Lakshya Sen, another Indian in the men’s singles, fell one spot in the rankings to land at number 12, while Kidambi Srikanth held onto his 20th place after losing in the first round of the World Championships.</p>
<p>PV Sindhu, a previous world champion in women’s singles who also lost in the first round of the World Championships, moved up one position to take 14th place.</p>
<p>Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty maintained their second-place standing in the men’s doubles after losing to Kim Astrup-Anders Rasmussen in the World Championships quarterfinals.</p>
<p>Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand, a women’s doubles team, rose two spots in the rankings to claim the 17th position overall.</p>
<p>This accomplishment followed their great round of 16 performance at the World Championships, where they competed valiantly but ultimately lost to the top-seeded Chinese team of Chen Qing Chen and Jia Yi Fan, who won the gold medal.</p>
